What are the asian handicaps?
As the name suggests it, asian handicaps were introduced by the Asian bookmakers. After some time, the news about those profitable types of bets reached punters all over the world and they are now offered by the best European bookmakers. Why are they so popular? Let us analyse this phenomenon.
Firstly, as we already mentioned, each action in asian handicap betting is calculated in a two-way choice manner (we exclude the option for a draw) - not three-way as it is in classic European handicaps. Thus, theoretically, the chances of making a successful bet increases from 33% up to the 50% - quite a bit, isn’t it? What is more, the bookmakers that offer asian handicaps enforce lower margin which results in higher odds.
With asian handicaps, you are able to make an interesting bet with good odds for even the weakest possible team, that is facing a lot stronger side, by using, for example, AH (+3) or AH (+4) options. Or you could go the other way around and find a good odds (value) for the better team with the AH (-3) or AH (-4) options. To sum up, knowledge of how to properly use the asian handicaps, which is not that difficult, can open for you countless, new possibilities.
