It is official, Lithuania has announced that it will be represented by The Roop in the Eurovision 2020 song contest.
For some, it might not mean much, however, the announcement quickly showed that it is a big of a deal, turning the whole Eurovision betting market in its favour. The country saw a 54% betting volume being wagered on it over the last week. That made all the
top online bookmakers slash their odds from then
11.00 (10/1) to now even
3.75 (11/4) at some bookies.
The group has a quite lovely resume, winning a couple of minor singing contest already. That should definitely give Lithuania a boost since their best Eurovision achievement was 6th place tie with the Czech Republic and Belarus.
The market will still undergo some changes, considering Ireland, Sweden and The United Kindom, which are the most successful nations, yet to announce their representatives.
Nevertheless, if you believe that Lithuania has a clear shot at winning this year’s contest, the best price for it could be found at
Ladbrokes and
William Hill. These two leading online betting operators list The Roop at the highest market price of
4.50 (7/2).
The former market favourite - Italy can be wagered on at the best market odds of
10.00 (9/1) at
Betfair.
