The recent video that surfaced the Internet where Michael Tyson is showing he still got plenty of gun powder in this hands brought out quite a few people who started calling out Mike for a potential bout. What is more, Michael himself told rapper TI during the Instagram Live interview that he is looking forward to be a part of a charity event like that, to «help some homeless and drug-affected [person] like me».
One of the
top online bookmakers was not wasting any time and opened a couple of markets for the possible return to boxing.
According to the oddsmakers, Mike to be featured in the pro or exhibition fight in 2020 is less likely to happen, given the odds of 2.00 (1/1), while the «No» option is priced at 1.71 (5/7). Looking at it logically, there might be lots of value in the particular market, since Mike himself showed his desire.
The list of the people who would like to take on «The Baddest Man on the Planet» looks not that appealing, mainly consisting of Barry Hall, Paul Gallen, and Sonny Bill Williams. What seems to be even more out of order is the odds offered on each of the potential bouts. The book favours each and every opponent (except for Holyfield) over Tyson. Maybe they know more than we do, but it seems like we have found tons of value here as well.
As for Holyfield, who has recently announced a return to the ring and who Tyson went 0-2 against during his professional career, including the «ear bite» fight, the fight between these two former heavyweight champions might be exactly what we need.
Besides the regular boxing, a Bare Knuckle Boxing promotion has offered Mike $20 million to take part in a bare-knuckle boxing event, featuring a list of possible opponents like Shannon «The Cannon» Briggs, Hector Lombard and Bobby Gunn. Luckily, the oddsmakers think that it would rather not happen, giving such possibility the odds of 2.50 (3/2).
