The four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel has announced parting ways with the Ferrari team at the end of the F1 season after two sides did not manage to reach the agreement. Top online bookmakers have immediately priced up the candidates to take on the vacant Ferrari seat.
According to the oddsmakers from
Coral, Carlos Sainz - McLaren driver who has been eyeing the seat for quite some time, is the main odds-on favourite to get the job. Italian Antonio Giovinazzi from the affiliated Alfa Romeo team has undergone quite some odds swings since the market opening. Starting at
13.00 (12/1) and later floating to
34.00 (33/1), he can currently be seen at the odds of
21.00 (20/1), being behind the famous Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas (both from Mercedes). Hamilton might be a really good fit for the ‘Rari team. Moreover, his current contract with Mercedes AMG is also running out, however, as the driver stated himself, he is looking to stay with the team longterm.
You can find a couple of more big names going down the list. Lots of Ferrari fans might like to see one of the most iconic Formula 1 names coming back to «The Prancing Horse», which is Schumacher. Yes, you read it right! Well, to be exact Schumacher Jr. since it is Mick Schumacher - son of the legendary F1 driver Michael Schumacher, who is currently driving in Formula 2 and is also affiliated to the Ferrari Driver Academy. Unfortunately for Schumacher fans, Mick is quite an underdog on the market and is unlikely to get the deal.
