The fatal incident took place at the Grand National. About 70 thousand spectators and over a million TV viewers witnessed the horse landing on its neck in convulsions.
Up For Review was the first horse to be killed at the prestigious race since 2012, along with two other casualties that happened in the last 48 hours of the event. The site was immediately covered, preventing viewers and spectators from seeing it.
This started a huge wave of criticism, especially from “animal cruelty” communities. As the talks are still not over, we can only hope the horse racing federation will come up with an ultimate solution.
